We've had a most unusual Christmas in that 3 out of 4 of us have been ill with one of the worst colds. I started with the sniffles and runny eyes last weekend and just managed to return to normal in time to cook Christmas Eve dinner. Then on Christmas Day my eldest DD came down with it and she spent most of the day with her eyes closed...let's put it this way, she asked me to re-wrap her gifts as she doesn't really remember opening them! We just managed to get her into an upright position to go to Stoke-on-Trent for Boxing day and the 27th to see the relatives and have our Christmas dinner with the in-laws (yummy!) ...all was well until yesterday when my DD2 came down with it....oh well tis the season!
The first time I sat at the sewing machine I was experimenting with some ideas that came to me during the fever I had had on the weekend. I don't know about you, but my best ideas either come to me during a raging fever, during a hangover, or on the toilet!! (My mother would say that is TMI (too much information)...but it might be interesting to see if I'm alone in that one!)
During the second opportunity I sewed together a bag as part of the BQL bag challenge of 2008. It is grocery bag shaped and folds into a pouch. Kate made one too, you can see it here. This bag was good fun to make and will match a bag I made last year.(shown in the bottom pic) The fabric is Alexander Henry Babes on Bikes and I think is fun, fun, fun. My DD1 says I'm only allow to use it when I'm shopping alone! Sheesh!! Doesn't she know fashion when she sees it :o)
Lastly, I just want wish you all a very happy and safe New Year!
