An impressive title, but really it’s only me having fun with a play on words as it is snowing outside and I have been working on my Scrappy Trip Around the World.
It’s been quite difficult to ignore all the buzz of the latest quilting craze as the Scrappy Trip Quilt has taken a life of its own. First written and pioneered by Bonnie from Quiltville there are now groups on Flickr and Instagram. So many colours and variations to oooh and aaah over!!
Even with my main machine in for a service I got to work. I dug out my Bernie and some strips and got sewing. (Why is it that I forget what a lovely machine this is and not use it more!)
I wasn’t going to start a new project so soon, but after seeing Trudi and Katy’s versions I had to give it a go! …and when it is snowing like this why not!
Until next time...♥

Jane, you and your quilt were the inspiration for me to start my "Scrappy Trip" a while ago. I still want to make another one, but use the "Bargello" layout like you did. They are really easy and fun blocks and I love that they use up so many old stash fabrics!
I love your trip. Ya know, I've never made this pattern. I know, I know -- cRaZy! LOL!
It makes one so happy! It´s easy cutting and easy sewing and it turned out so wonderful! I've started on one too :-)
I will hopefully get around to this pattern sooner or later. LOVE the snow.....it is current 24C here which is completely crazy!!
I got sucked in too! My top is done (20 blocks and a border) and I'm going to try my luck at straight line quilting it... off to the sewing room I go!
Itching I am going to love your scrappy...I am also tempted by what I've seen in blog land. You have snow! I didn't think you got much snow there...a perfect day to stay inside and sew!
What pretty fabrics! The snow looks so nice too, mainly because it's there and not here! LOL
I keep seeing them cropping up here there and everywhere and I'm getting tempted too :)
Love your scrappy trip, Jane! My initial go round on this was pretty ugly...LOL... but I will dust myself off and try again as it's such a fun block.
How fun to see you getting snow! We'd had the same here in the past week and tomorrow it's supposed to get above zero.
Eeeeek! Another one on the bandwagon. Enjoy. And drive safe.
That is going to be a lovely quilt! We don't have any snow.....
Very pretty Jane! I'm beginning to feel like the one lone hold-out LOL. It's awfully tempting though....
It does look cold at your place. I am just off to water the garden before it gets too hot.
I sure am jealous of your wonderful weather...enjoy sewing your snowy trip!!
I live in Canada and we don't have any snow right now. t looks more wintery where you live than it does here! I may have to make one of those quilts too...I have lots of 2 1/2" strips lurking in my sewing room... HappyNew Year to you and your family!
Trip Around the World quilts are really fun to make. Yours looks lovely! Stay warm!
Scrappy tripping AND snow… there is nothing better! Well, besides that + a personal chef and a housekeeper - that would be my fantasy.
A wonderful photo of your Bernie! When I saw it in my feedreader, I rubbed my eyes because I have the same machine. And I love it!
