A Good Day for Ducks…

It's raining, but that didn’t stop Lynda and I and friends to check out the new quilt shop in town; The Quarter Inch.  Located in Market Harborough, this quaint shop has all the things that make quilter’s heart go pitter-patter.

You can just about make out the rain we braved to visit her shop in this next picture…can’t complain though, as we are in need of some wet weather.
Eunice, who you can read more about here, started the shop recently and has a small, but good selection of pretty fabrics.

She has some good basics that could match just about any colour scheme.  I was looking for white on whites for my blue and white quilt and found one that will go nicely.

She also has a good range of threads…don’t they look pretty all in a row :o)

..and some of my favourites..the Tilda fabrics!  Eunice also has a great range of British themed fabrics which I did manage to resist, though I was tempted.  The bolts were in my hands and then back on the shelf a few times before I got out of the shop.

Then once I was back home it was back to my half square triangles to get them sewn into blocks.

I’m really pleased with them and now need to sew them into sets of 4.  As you can see there is some consistency with the background fabrics.  They are either beige, yellow, pink or blue and I’m trying to decided whether to put them in colour families or to piece them together randomly.  I’m not sure I have the right amount put them in a clever setting, so random might just have to be it.

Until next time....

Another quilt shop within reach of you. I think that is dangerous to the pocket book, but bliss.

One day, after my kids are all grown and out (and I've won the lotto) I'd like to do a month long tour of the world's cutest quilt shops. I think I'd be visiting this shop for sure!

Did you scroll past your photos of the cottons? When I do it has an amazing effect ....all the reels appear to move.

Hi Jane, Sheila here from Florida. Thanks so much for the photos of Eunice's shop. I heard all about it from Bunty and wish her all the luck in the world. That is a must see when I come back over. Thanks again.
