This video, which I first saw on Violet Posy's Blog, is so clever and so true! If you have young females in your life then this is worth a watch...

This commercial isn't real, neither are society's standards of beauty.
Until next time....

this is great! thanks for sharing. today's standard of beauty and size is ridiculous. i read the other day that size 6 is considered plus-sized for models. that doesn't reflect real people AT ALL!
ReplyDeleteIn reality a size 6 is quite emaciated and definitely not healthy. Power to the real people I say.
ReplyDeleteGreat video. The standards set by the beauty industry are unreachable - the negative effects of this fantasy on young girls are unmeasurable. Thanks for sharing this, Jane.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this! The beauty industry's ideas about how a woman should look are so unrealistic and do nothing but promote eating disorders. I hope this video goes viral!!
ReplyDeletethat is totally awesome, now to share with some teen grand daughters...thanks Jane, love it..

Hi Jane, thanks for sharing this - women of all ages and sizes are put under so much pressure to achieve looks that are unrealistic and basically unhealthy.
ReplyDeleteI suppose there's a reason we hear comments such as "she looks so different in person" and then once face to face with the real deal, the reporters comment on how tragic it is that so and so has let herself go, lol. A girl just can't win at that game. :-D
ReplyDeleteFab, clever film making.I only wish the people who really need to hear this were listening.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing it - I find it desperately sad that my daughter is growing up in a world with such false images and huge expectations for women's looks. xx
ReplyDeleteLove this! I've shared it with EVERYONE!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous! I think it should be a compulsary part of every school curriculum - the boys need to see it too! And this not-so-young woman feels a lot better after watching it too!
ReplyDeleteThat is fantastic! I laughed, but it made me sad too. I"ll definitely be passing this around.
