Oh Cherry Me...

Back in April of 2009 I won Siobhan's giveaway..doesn't seem very significant now, but it is in that I have finally cut into the gorgeous Oh Cherry charm pack that she sent me!  For two years I've be flipping through those fabrics admiring the colours wondering what pattern would suit them best!

As the charm pack had 33 squares I used some the Oh Cherry FQ that Siobhan sent me to cut 3 more charms to make it 36 squares.  Then I cut 36 white squares to pair them up and make theses lovely hour glass blocks.

Each of the prints are darling and I just didn't think that a complicated block would do them justice.  I will put them together 8 x 9 in a straight set and then add borders to make a child size quilt.  With any luck I'll have this one done in no time.

Until next time...

O, I just love this fabric! I just realized I have a Moda Layer Cake of this in my stash and possibly a charm pack as well. I love the blocks you made!

The fabric is lovely. I can understand how you had a hard time deciding what to do with it. Sometimes I have that problem too when I find a fabric that's special to me. I'm going to become a follower so that I will be sure to see the finished quilt.

I couldn't choose my favorite I thought it was the small red cherries then saw the red dashes and dots, scrolled up to the first picture and the fabric on the top is lovely too. Look forward to seeing the top put together. Do we need to go shopping for border fabric again? :-)

I made my little girl a patchwork dress/jumper out of that same charm pack. Then I started quilting. Wow.

Ooooh I love cherries. I think you're right to keep the blocks simple. I'm saving up cherries as I find them, I'll have to go look for some more!
