Poor Bird...Wordless Wednesday

All summer long we have been hosting a family of black birds in our hedge.  As a result they are quite tame and seem to know that I'm the nice lady with the food :o)  Last week this rather scruffy bird came and roosted the the lawn by the patio and allowed me to take his/her picture.

Until next time...

Was it a warm day? He may have been sunbathing. The blackbirds do it all the time in our garden. They semi spread their wings out and open their beaks. Funny to watch but I am sure that is what they are doing. Do you think they will ask me to appear on NatureWatch or Country File?

Scruffy bird might be a fledgling just flown the nest - they tend to look a bit like they have 'bad hair day' until the feathers start to smooth over.
