Not my work..but well worth a blog post...

The following pictures are not of my work, but the work of my daughter.  A few years ago my teenage daughter took up knitting.  Like so many she started with a scarf, but soon the love affair with yarn and wool blossomed and she has completed these three projects over half-term.
(I should state...they were all started well before half-term...I wouldn't want you all to think she is some sort of Speedy Gonzales knitter!)

These blue hand-warmers were made for me as a present.  Aren't I lucky!

These purple hand-warmers were the first she completed with thumbs!

And this scarf was something she knitted just to finish up some left over yarn.  I'm so proud of her skill.  Knitting is something I never took to and now my hands wouldn't cooperate.  It's lovely to see her passionate about a craft.

Until next time...

They are lovely! I'm not much of a knitter, but I taught the little I know to my daughter, who like your daughter took to it big time and has made some lovely things. I'm happy to keep her in quilts if I get the occasional pair of socks. :)

She is passionate and talented about knitting, clearly. Lucky you with the blue hand warmers! Those are my favorite kind of cold weather gear for my hands. Knitting is so soothing (and addictive).

Your daughter has done wonderfully on these projects! Those little thumbs can be very fiddly.

I do love it when one of the next generation become hooked on a needle skill. Well done to your daughter for persevering and mastering it. We all know the sense of achievement when we have finished something.
Love Shirley.x

My mom made me a pair of these gloves a couple years ago and I wear them all the time. I can still use my ipod and iphone with them on - they are great.

Beautiful Work Jane -- You might not be a knitter, but I'm thinking she's inherited your talents!

Wow - what a clever girl. I couldn't do those warmers with thumb bits. Congratulations to her (and to you for yet more lovely photos). : ) x
