As you can see I've got the next series of blocks together for the Country Club Quilt. Now it is plain to see that it is looking a little different from the pattern because I forgot to reverse the pattern before tracing it on to the heat and bond and as a result I've reversed the block rather than starting again.
So here's my question to you...would you try and reverse the patterns for future blocks or would you proceed as I have here and continued to make the odd reversed block. The patterns in the book aren't reversed for you and I'm not quite sure the best way to reverse them... As the pattern is so rustic and country...will anyone other than you and I know it should be any other way?

I say just do it however you want to Jane! Like you said, nobody is really going to notice that one block is backwards, or that the whole thing is backwards if you decide to do it that way. It will still be a beautiful quilt when you're done! :0)
I say keep doing it like you are. No one will know but you. And really do you want that added "headache" of trying to figure it out. I wouldn't. LOL ;o)
Well, so far this isn't an issue, but when you get to the must be right directional blocks with letter of the alphabet, the shovel points west, that sort of thing is where you might want to follow the design closer, but otherwise if the blocks will connect with the others when it's time to join/sew the top together than no I would not change this block. Nice to see your progress on the Garden Club Quilt!

ANd I say the same as the others before me.... I know I would have been mad at myself.. which I was... when I made my first block.. but then.. so what... yours will be different.. but who knows.. it might be better!! :o)

Oh, my gosh! I do that all the time! As long as the backwards block fits in I keep it and try to get the rest of the right. Your quilt will turn out just fine. After a quilt has been finished for some time even I forget which blocks I reversed on accident!
I say do whatever is easiest for you. It is your quilt. But there are some things that would have to be done so that they read correctly. I usually trace a design onto some plain newsprint paper with a black Sharpie pen. Then flip the sheet over & write "trace this side". That reminds me that when using a fusible, I have to trace with that side of the newsprint (or other paper) up. Doesn't take long to trace for reversing that way.
Great blocks. How about if you reverse some and not others.
I am not sure it will matter. I think that I would keep doing what you are doing. I am sure that it will look beautiful however you finish.
I would leave it! It looks fantastic as it is. Maybe if it will become more obvious that it was reversed as the quilt progresses you could reverse a few more blocks to balance it out.
I would not reverse the patterns. No one will no but you and you'll have a one of a kind quilt that will be different from anyone elses!

Oh Jane, it's so good to see someone still working steadily away on this project. I do hope that I can jump back in real soon - our things will be arriving this week. After the unpacking, winter will be here giving me the gift of time to sit and stitch. This project will be a high priority. I just love seeing what you have done *s*
I haven't done much applique but I would probably just keep on going in the same manner and have everything reversed...and say that you meant to do it that way!
