A Wavy Wallhanging...

Lynda and I seem to be on the same "wave" length when it comes to colour at the moment.  Together we are part of a mini sewing group that challenges ourselves every couple of months with a new block or technique.  This time around we are all making a mini quilt using a technique which requires us to sew together wavy panel and then cut circles out which are then swapped and then stitched down in place.  This is mine...

Until next time...

I just made a mini quilt/wall hanging for the first time last weekend....it was too much fun. Yours turned out great-I do love those circles!

It's beautiful! I love the look of the very pretty, traditional looking fabrics with the much more modern looking wave design. Fabulous!

So how do you do this? I've wanted to know how to sew in the wavy strips for awhile now, but I'm not sure of the fundamentals behind this idea. Do you lay your fabrics out, one on top of the other, and cut your waves and then swap around fabrics??

You were a bit more sensible than I, making your strips wider and therefore more stable. Looking good!
