Using up some more crumbs and scraps I've been making tote bags for the teachers at my daughter's school. The stitching was done with variegated perle cotton and the handles with faux piping were inspired by this tutorial over at Bloom and Blossom. It was a great way to introduce a bit of detail on the handles. I'm sure the teachers will love them. (I hope)
In other news..just look at Mrs Squirrel! We recently changed our bird feeder to this post and although I thought it might put her off she has seemed to find a way to eat and balance at the same time! So elegant in that second picture don't you think!
Until next time...

Great bag Jane -- I love the cool stitches on the edges. Maybe Mr. Squirrel needs his own bag -- he could store his food in it.
I'm sure the teachers will love those bags and find great uses for them too! Very nice!
Love the bag ... the teachers will love them for sure!!

Hey Jane, nice handles! The bag looks great. Love the idea of denim with a cute fabric strip. Lucky teachers!
Great bag! I really like the variegated perle cotton stitching. It adds such a great touch. I bet the teacher's loved their bags.

Of course the teachers will love them! (Much better than the ornaments that the child has chosen - I know it's the thought that counts, but believe me, a five year old's taste isn't always too sophisticated!)
what a great bag...i love the colorful stitching... we have some naughty squirrels at our house and somehow if it is for food they can do anything
Great bag but I love the squirrel tooooo cute.
I love the hand stitching detail on the bag! I'm glad you liked your fabric, I got mine sewn up into a quilt top yesterday and its so soft! Thanks for stopping by! -Allison
